Cricket Session

On Tuesday morning Room 11 participated in a special cricket lesson! The instructor was a guy called Cole from Auckland Cricket Association. We did it to have some fun and to get better at our cricket skills. We were doing cricket on the Sunnybrae field because there was lots of room for us to play. First we were doing catching and underarm throws to our partners. Next we were doing a race of how many catches and throws we could do in one minute. Then we were doing left hand races and right hand races. When we finished the races Cole put us into two teams. There was a team called Team 1 and Team 2. Team 2 were doing batting first. If you caught the ball on the full, the batter was out. Team 2 got 72 points. Next Team 1 was going to do the batting and Team 2 was going to do the fielding. First it was Michael’s turn, and he hit the ball so far he got 8 runs. When William hit the ball, 1 of the balls went through 4 students legs. When Team 1 finished they got 56 points. Team 2 won. When we finished, Cole asked us to recap what we had learnt. It was awesome! By William and Michael
