Here are some of our finished Tapa Cloths. We think they look fantastic! Zoe and Hiba used a hot glue gun to glue them onto a sheet and we hung the sheet up as a decoration for our Pasifika stall at the food festival.
This morning we had a cultural parade to showcase all of the different cultures in our school. We were allowed to dress up in our cultural clothes for everyone to see. In our class, we represent lots of different cultures - can you guess what they are?
On Tuesday afternoon we did art with our buddy class,
Room 15. We made tapa cloths - we used pencils to
draw some designs then we went over it with vivid and then we
scrunched it up and then made it flat and then dyed them
with brown dye. They look awesome just like real tapa
cloths. We are getting them ready for the Food Festival
that is on this Friday!

In Room 11 we have a book called I-Storm. It shows augmented reality which makes book images come to life before your eyes using an app on the ipad. It was very exciting to see natural disasters happen in “real life”. There were many pages to see in the book including volcanoes and tornadoes etc. Everyone had a go and had lots of fun. More and more people kept on coming to check out what we were doing.

On Tuesday morning Room 11 participated in a special cricket lesson! The instructor was a guy called Cole from Auckland Cricket Association. We did it to have some fun and to get better at our cricket skills. We were doing cricket on the Sunnybrae field because there was lots of room for us to play. First we were doing catching and underarm throws to our partners. Next we were doing a race of how many catches and throws we could do in one minute. Then we were doing left hand races and right hand races. When we finished the races Cole put us into two teams. There was a team called Team 1 and Team 2. Team 2 were doing batting first. If you caught the ball on the full, the batter was out. Team 2 got 72 points. Next Team 1 was going to do the batting and Team 2 was going to do the fielding. First it was Michael’s turn, and he hit the ball so far he got 8 runs. When William hit the ball, 1 of the balls went through 4 students legs. When Team 1 finished they got 56 points. Team 2 won. When we finished, Cole asked us to recap what we had learnt. It was awesome!

Everybody in Room 11 was really busy scribbling and rubbing out their Dojo characters. The Dojo competition winner’s character will be animated on the latest Mojo video. All the students were buzzing with excitement expecting their unique dojo monster to win the competition. Only some students wanted to enter their creations. We all drafted, published, wrote and coloured like busy bees! Look at the photos of the the students working hard down below! Can you find your monster!?:b
