Diving

Last week Room 11 went to the hall for a special treat…. DIVING LESSONS! In the hall though how is that possible? We did the lesson because the person (Steve) wanted to carry on the next group of divers to try and get into the olympics. The first exercise was really hard we had to do the pencil pose for about thirty seconds! We did some other poses (They didn’t all hurt) that helped us with power and flexibilty. Some people got a letter for another lesson. I bet they would learn a lot and it would be fun. By Baileigh

Cluster Sports - Soccer

Last week week we did cluster sports. I was doing soccer. We were versing different schools that were Willow park, Northcote and Onepoto. But Onepoto couldn’t make it. First thing we did was sort out the teams. Every team was very good because they had at least two good players in their team. We were playing at our school. Some teams we versed were very hard teams. Some of our school teams won and some of our teams lost. But my team was the only one that won the final game against a very hard Willow Park team. The final game was the longest game, it was about twenty five minutes. Some goals were big and some were small. The small goals were hard to see if the ball went in. Our record was two wins, one tie and two loses. By: William

Cluster Sports - Table Tennis

Last week I played table tennis for the Senior Syndicate cluster sports day. I walked with some people but there was only a few people and I was the only person that did table tennis in Room 11. Yievy, Christine and Nikita ate morning tea and lunch with me.I was happy! We won a few times and we lost a little but it was so fun! I had a prize if I won the champ. But I didn’t get it. Yievy got a prize. It was a drink. I didn’t know that table tennis was so fun. I hope I will play it again. After we walked back to school. By Miyu

Cluster Sports - Rippa Rugby

Last week we went to play rippa rugby at Onepoto school. It was part of the cluster sports we played against Onepoto School and Northcote School. We played 2 games on each field and the game was good. Our opponents were taller than us but we still won the game. The weather was really sunny and a bit cold we had a lot of fun. Ruia te Kakano Show

On Wednesday 8th June Room 11and 12 went to an awesome Maori show. It was about a mouse and a yellow eyed penguin going on a quest to take a birthday cake to a bird. Everything they said was in Maori. There was also a narrator. He was talking in Maori and English. When we got to the theatre we saw another school there to watch the show. There was also a bad guy. He was trying to take the cake because it was also his birthday. He kept on following the mouse and the Yellow eyed penguin. Every time they saw the octopus they got scared. We also learnt some words like Kia ora, kei te pai, e peke etc. We really liked the show - we went there because we were learning about Maori language. The show was really funny and cool. In the end the bad evil octopus became friends with the yellow eyed penguin and the mouse and they all became friends. By Te Awerangi

Ethan's Magnificent Bowl

Easy Blog Photo
My bowl This is my magnificent bowl that is covered from top to bottom with a cherry red. However inside the bowl is a fantastic army green identified as the night sky. As you can see there are two black branches and a big yellow dot identified as the moon. My bowl has got three slits to mark where to hang it up if I wanted to. It is soft and ripped because I didn't put any tissue paper on it.

Rm 11's Awesome Animalia Wall Display!

Easy Blog Photo
Rm 11 has started a new inquiry topic... Animalia! Me (Zoe) , Jaqueline, Hiba and Mrs Achmadi have created this attractive wall display to show that we have been learning about Animalia. For the sea we used: two different sheets and shades of blue, a blue laced net and little pieces of foam. The desert was made with : brown tufts and yellow cellophane with glitter glued on it. There was also green sheets representing the grasslands and green cellophane was used with corrugated cardboard so that we could make the terrific trees. The best part was when we cut out some mountains and glued on sprinkles of gleaming glitter. We knew that Together Everyone Achieves More! After all this work, it actually looked outstanding!
