Instructions

We are learning how to read and write instructions. Instructions come in many forms (recipes, origami, directions...). They mainly tell us 'how to' do or make something. For reading this week we are reading lots of different types of instructions and completing the related activity. We made things like: balloon hacky sacks, pop-up cards, friendship bracelets, origami, weaving designs, drawings and lots more. Here are some pictures from today.

Book Sort

We have so many books in our classroom! Miss Bateman decided that we needed to have a big sort out. Each group was given a pile of books, which we had to sort into different categories. Some of the categories were fiction, non-fiction, drawing books, science books, history books, cooking books, comic books, magazines, chapter books and lots more. Once they were sorted, we shared our categories with the other groups to see if they had any books to add to our piles. The books were then placed in different boxes around our classroom and labelled so it is easy to find books from different genres to read. Here are some photos of us sorting the books.

Food Inquiry Research Presentations

This term we have been learning about Food for Thought. We have looked at a lot of different things relating to food and at the end of the topic, we got to pick our own question and research it. We then presented out ideas to the class. Here are some photos of us presenting our projects.

Swan Plant

Miss Bateman brought a swan plant to school today. James was very good at looking after it. Him and Anthony have made the following Google Doc to show some information about swan plants.
